Match Recap

Jiri Lehecka (21) def. Arthur Fils (28) 6-2, 6-2
Lehecka delivered a dominant performance in just 75 minutes to reach his maiden ATP Masters 1000 final. The Czech did not face a single break point across the entire match and broke Fils four times while striking the ball cleanly off both wings.
He avenged his recent Doha quarter-final loss to Fils and leveled their H2H at 2-2. Lehecka becomes the first player to reach a Masters 1000 final without dropping serve since Novak Djokovic in Shanghai 2018.
This is his second Masters 1000 semi-final (after Madrid 2024, where he retired injured), and he will rise to a career-high No. 14 (or No. 12 if he wins the title) in the live rankings.
Fils, in his first Masters 1000 semi-final, appeared to feel the effects of his epic quarter-final comeback against Tommy Paul (where he saved four match points).
Lehecka has top-10 potential if he can stay fit, as he strikes the ball extremely well. Along with Machac and Mensik, the Czechs have a nice little trio of guys who can easily be in the mix at most tournaments.

Highlights
Jannik Sinner (2) def. Alexander Zverev (3) 6-3, 7-6(4)
Sinner extended his dominance over Zverev to seven straight wins (8-4 overall H2H) with a composed semi-final victory.
He broke early in the first set and saved the only break point he faced.
In the second set, Zverev pushed hard (saving two break points at 4-4), but Sinner forced a tiebreak and edged it 7-4 with strong serving (15 aces, 79% first-serve points won). T
His win pushed Sinner’s Masters 1000 consecutive sets won streak to 32. He is now one win away from becoming the first man since Roger Federer in 2017 to complete the Sunshine Double.
Sinner will move closer to World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz in the rankings and could conceivably recapture the Number 1 ranking after Monte Carlo.
I thought Zverev played a pretty good match, and the gap between the two isn’t as wide as many fans think, so on the right surface / day, he’ll probably be able to bag a win. Will it be in the final of a big tournament? Who knows.
