Newcastle, United Kingdom — Former Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship heavyweight world champion Mick Terrill made a thunderous statement on Saturday night, capturing the inaugural BKFC United Kingdom Heavyweight Title with a lightning-fast victory at Utilita Arena.

Fighting in front of a sold-out crowd in Newcastle, the North Shields native needed just 53 seconds to stop previously unbeaten Jay McFarlane. The bout was halted when McFarlane was unable to continue due to vision issues following Terrill’s early onslaught.

With the win, Terrill improves to 5-2 in BKFC, while the Glasgow-based McFarlane falls to 1-1.

Following the victory, Terrill wasted no time setting his sights on a major showdown.

Terrill’s callout was directed at newly crowned BKFC Heavyweight World Champion Andrei Arlovski, potentially setting up a blockbuster clash in the promotion’s heavyweight division.

Gzim Selmani Impresses in BKFC Debut

Former WWE superstar Gzim Selmani made a memorable BKFC debut in the heavyweight division. The Albanian fighter showed resilience after being knocked down early, rallying to score four knockdowns before stopping Dan Curtin just 22 seconds into the second round.

The dramatic comeback victory quickly turned heads among fans and observers at the arena.

Quick Finishes Highlight Undercard

The event featured several fast finishes across multiple divisions.

Scotland’s Sean Weir improved to 2-0 in BKFC, stopping Matthew Hodgson in just 102 seconds of their light-heavyweight bout.

At bantamweight, unbeaten Lewis Garside remained perfect, earning a hard-fought unanimous decision over Kieron Sewell after five competitive rounds.

Middleweight Joe Lister scored a first-round knockout over Danny Wall, dropping his opponent twice before the bout was stopped at 1:28 of the opening round.

Cruiserweight action saw professional boxer Jack Cullen improve to 2-0 in BKFC, stopping Marley Churcher with just one second remaining in the second round. Cullen boasts a decorated gloved boxing career with a record of 22-6-1, including British and Commonwealth titles.

Another cruiserweight standout, Dec Spelman, climbed to 3-0 after Jonny Redmond’s corner stopped their fight following the first round.

Strong Performances Across the Card

Newcastle’s Lewis Keen delivered a dominant five-round unanimous decision win over previously unbeaten Jon Telfer, while Welsh veteran James Lilley needed only 38 seconds to knock out Yannick Van Dinther in welterweight action.

Liverpool’s Mikey Henderson improved to 3-0 after ringside physicians stopped his bout against Liam Dooley due to a cut around Dooley’s eye.

Heavyweight James Walker also stayed undefeated, scoring a fourth-round TKO over Mohammed Saleem after dropping his opponent three times.

Featherweight Jeff Saunders impressed in his BKFC debut, knocking down Bartek Kanabey three times before finishing the fight in the third round.

The night concluded with Stew Martin scoring two knockdowns before Jordan Burnett’s corner stopped their lightweight contest at the end of the opening round.
