Mike McCarthy already making unprecedented change to Steelers

It is a new era of football for the Pittsburgh Steelers in more ways than one. The obvious way is that after 19 years, it will no longer be Mike Tomlin patrolling the team’s sidelines and running the show. That responsibility now falls on Pittsburgh native Mike McCarthy as he looks to continue the franchise’s legacy of championship and Hall of Fame coaches.

McCarthy is already making one big change to the Steelers in comparison to the way Tomlin ran things.

Steelers to have their biggest coaching staff ever

According to longtime Steelers beat writer Mark Kaboly, McCarthy’s staff already has 19 assistant coaches on it and still needs to add at least a tight ends coach. When that tight ends coach gets added, it will bring the coaching staff to 20 assists.

That will make it the biggest coaching staff the Steelers organization has ever employed.
