On Tuesday, Bangladesh has clinched a series of giant Test wins against Pakistan. In the first match, which they won by 10 wickets, this marked Bangladesh’s first ever Test win against Pakistan. The second Test repeated this performance and it was thus firmed as a remarkable feat for the team. According to ICC, this series victory is also Bangladesh’s first Test series win (of two matches or more) against a team other than Zimbabwe and West Indies.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz was the shining star of the show taking 10 wickets in the series; he was named Player Of The Series for such show.

“I really enjoy batting with them, (five-wicket hauls) for sure. Happy because you know it’s been difficult to bowl on this pitch and therefore I got five wickets which are just awesome moments for me; this one is how I feel right now about Cricket.” No, I hadn’t played during World Cup because if I were at home for 5 months period our hands were tied up.

He dedicated his Player of the Series award to all those who lost their lives in a recent anti-discrimination protest or rather appreciated the Bangladesh team management people.

Our team management deserves to be credited most definitely; there is abundant support and so many people are really working hard for the cause. And I take pleasure in this practice that you have initiated in our country. (Team performance) oh yes! They are definitely very happy about my performance as well as very supportive of me; I am extremely pleased and I shall never forget that moment.”

“This is my first time winning a Player of the Series Award in an overseas tour. We all know that only recently there were problems within my country. To all those who were martyred during the anti-discrimination student protest, I want to dedicate this Man of the Series award. One rickshaw puller got hurt and afterwards passed away; this award goes to them.”
