Miraz has given the family of a rickshaw puller who sadly lost his life during the protests his whole share of the prize money from the last series in Pakistan.

Bangladesh defeated Pakistan 2-0 in the Test series, with Mehidy playing brilliantly. With two half-centuries under his belt, he amassed 155 runs at a 77.50 average and a 51.15 strike rate. His highest score of 78 came in the first Test match in Rawalpindi, which the Tigers won by a margin of ten wickets.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz gave the family of a rickshaw puller killed in the recent student protests in Bangladesh the prize money for the Pakistan Test series. The previous several months have seen a rise in political unrest in the nation, leading to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s resignation and departure. Mehidy dropped a note on his Facebook page with a picture together with the rickshaw puller’s family. The 26-year-old said that he promised to give the family his prize money and assist them after seeing a video of the rickshaw puller’s son sobbing on social media.
“A video that went online recently caught my eyes. The crying voice of a rickshaw driver’s brother’s child in the anti-discriminatory student movement after his father was killed has made me think again and again. I vowed to stand by my brother’s family. I promised that I will hand over the money for the ‘Man of the Series’ award in Pakistan,” Mehidy captioned his post.
“Finally, that goal is fulfilled. I was able to hand over this money to them yesterday. I know, this means nothing compared to the lost life. I will be glad if I am able to make their life a little easier,” Mehidy further added in his caption.
