Indian star batter Virat Kohli was left stunned by Kiwi spinner Mitchell Santner on the second day of the second Test in Pune. India began the day in decent fashion with the duo of Yashasvi Jaiswal of Shubman Gill looking in good touch and smacking several boundaries.
However, Gill lost his wicket to Santner in the 22nd over for 30 runs. With this wicket, India would be restricted to 50/2. Then, it would be Kohli’s turn to come out to bat.
A lot was expected from Kohli here as India need to post a total of either 400 or more here otherwise they will fail to gain a massive advantage over the Black Caps.
However, unexpectedly Kohli would try to hit his signature glance shot on a full toss to Santner. This move would end up completely backfiring as Kohli would miss the ball by a fair margin and it would end up racking up his stumps.
This knock of a single run meant that Kohli continued his abysmal Test form and now he will be eyeing to do well in the all important second innings. This wicket would leave India in a spot of bother at 56/3 after 23.4 overs.
