MJF is blasting Cagematch — and he’s not taking its ratings seriously at all. He tore into the platform, questioning how a system with so few votes can be treated as credible in wrestling discussions.
While speaking on LNG Productions on April 5, 2026, MJF went off on Cagematch, questioning both its credibility and why people take its scores seriously in the first place. He started by trying to understand the platform — before immediately taking a shot at the ratings themselves.
“Cagematch—is that the… it’s like a ratings thing, you know? Do a lot of people use this site? 8.77…? F*** you—8.77? That’s good if you’re a f***** undercard jabroni. I’m a 10.”
The AEW World Champion then honed in on what bothered him most — the number of votes behind the scores, which he clearly didn’t see as meaningful: “Wait, I have a question—when it says 144 votes, that means only 144 people?” From there, he completely dismissed the idea that such numbers should carry weight, arguing that the sample size alone makes the ratings unreliable.
“I’m getting out of here. This is ridiculous. The fact that anyone takes something seriously when not even a thousand people are talking about a wrestler or a match is f****** bonkers.”
And to wrap it up, he questioned why the topic is even being taken seriously at all: “And so this is something that people are discussing heavily? That’s f***** crazy.”
MJF’s comments come at a time when WWE is dealing with backlash tied to the April 3 episode of SmackDown, which recorded a 0.25 rating on Cagematch — the lowest in the show’s history — following criticism over Pat McAfee being revealed as Randy Orton’s ally in his feud with Cody Rhodes.
But for MJF, the bigger issue isn’t the reaction — it’s how that reaction is being measured. Instead of engaging with the criticism itself, he’s challenging whether platforms like Cagematch should carry any real influence in the first place.
Do you think Cagematch ratings actually matter in today’s wrestling landscape, or is MJF right to call them out? Let us know your thoughts.
