I didn’t think I would ever want Selig back, but that is where I’m at. Manfred is a ratings whore, and he is turning the game into a T-Ball affair. You FINISH baseball games, not end them in the 9th over a glorified batting practice.
Watched the MLB All-Star game, and as far as the game…it was good. But when it was tied in the 9th inning and they had what was essentially a batting practice to decide who the “winner” was…it was horseshit and cheap. There was NO winner last night…again.
So the millionaire pitchers don’t want to pitch past the 9th inning? Really? Then don’t pitch all of them before the ninth inning. If you want to anyway, well then, carry some minor league pitchers JUST to pitch if the game goes into extra innings. Hell, you have messed up the rules so much, what is one more? It will give them some attention, and they can mix with the stars. Play the damn game till it’s OVER…it’s NOT that hard.
As Dave said… let’s just have a dance off to decide it! How about one potato, two potato? King of the Hill? Simon Says? Draw straws or Tic Tac Toe?
What an embarrassing end to a ballgame, and it’s all on you, Manfred. I’ve had enough of your “ghost runners” and the stupid things you have done. Put a commissioner in there who actually likes the game! What a concept! The World Series trophy is much more than a “piece of metal,” as you described it.
