England’s star all-rounder Moeen Ali has announced his retirement from international cricket. Ali decided to take this decision after he got excluded from the white-ball squad for upcoming series against Australia.
Moeen Ali expressed that he felt it was the correct time to retire from international cricket, which cited his career with England national Team.
Last year, Moeen Ali retired from Test cricket or second time. Despite his retirement from Test cricket, he continued to represent England.
In an interview, Moeen Ali shared his reasons for taking his retirement. He expressed that playing for England was one of the most fulfilling experiences of his life and emphasized about his decision to retire was not due to fitness concerns.
“Playing for England were the best days of my life. I could hold on and try to play for England again, but I know in reality I won’t. Even retiring, I don’t feel it’s because I’m not good enough – I still feel I can play. But I get how things are, and the team needs to evolve into another cycle. It’s about being real to myself,” Moeen said.
