Mohammed Shami receives death threat amid IPL 2025, FIR lodged by brother

India National Cricket Team fast bowler Mohammed Shami has received a death threat amid the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. As per the reports in Dainik Jagran, it is learned that the fast bowler got the threat through his mail on Sunday (4th April).

The report claimed that Mohammed Shami received a death threat from a person named Rajput Sindhar. The India National Cricket Team fast bowler, however, took quick action as his brother Hasib Ahmed filed an FIR related to the same on Monday (5th April).

The mail was sent by an individual named Rajput Sindhar, demanding ransom money worth Rs 1 crore from the cricketer. His brother gave a written application to the Amroha police to launch an investigation into the matter. Amroha SP has already registered an FIR and directed the Cyber Cell to probe the matter further.

This comes after the recent terror attack in the Pahalgam region of Jammu and Kashmir. The terrorists opened fire on tourists and killed as many as 28 people. Recently, the India National Cricket Team head coach Gautam Gambhir also received a similar kind of threat.

Mohammed Shami, who is a resident of Amroha, is part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The fast bowler is having a tough season in the league, as he hasn’t been able to make the kind of impact that was expected from him.
