Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj has been appointed as the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Telangana. He will report to the Director General of Police (DGP).
Siraj, who was a part of the T20 World Cup winning Indian squad and recently also featured for India in the Test series against Bangladesh which they ended up winning by 2-0, was honoured by the Telangana government.
The seamer is not the only athlete to be awarded, as the Telangana government announced Group-1 jobs for the cricketer and the world champion boxer Nikhat Zareen in appreciation of their magnificent performances in sports.
Siraj has been rested for the ongoing 3-match T20I series against Bangladesh in order to keep him fit for the upcoming 3-match Test series against New Zealand which is set to commence from October 16.
