Match Recap

Jannik Sinner (2) def. Alexander Zverev (3) 6-1 6-4
Jannik Sinner delivered a commanding performance to reach his first Monte-Carlo final. The World No. 2 raced to a 4-0 lead in the opening set and never looked back, overwhelming Zverev with precise serving and relentless baseline hitting.
He converted all four break points he earned and won 80% of points on Zverev’s first serve in the first set. This marked Sinner’s eighth straight tour-level win over Zverev and extended his Masters 1000 winning streak to 21 matches.
He became just the fourth player (after Roger Federer in 2006, Rafael Nadal in 2011, and Novak Djokovic in 2015) to reach the final at the first three Masters 1000 events of a season.
Sinner will face Carlos Alcaraz in Sunday’s final, with both the title and the World No. 1 ranking on the line.“I’m very happy… now finding myself in the final means a lot to me,” Sinner said. “I felt really solid from the beginning.”
Zverev didn’t create a break point, and I don’t see how he beats Sinner with his court positioning. Clay is Zverev’s best surface, but his chances of beating Sinner on it are worse than hard court or grass IMO as his serve does zero damage.
