Mary Duggan
Former English all-rounder Mary Duggan tops the list of the most wickets in Women’s test. Between 1948 to 1958, Mary represented England in 17 test matches and took 77 wickets, scoring 652 runs too. 7 for 6 has been her best bowling figure in the tests. She bagged a wicket in every 48 balls in her career.
Betty Wilson
Australian Betty Wilson is regarded as one of the greats to play women test cricket, she has bagged 68 wickets in 11 matches at a staggering average of 11.80. With the bat too, Betty amassed 862 runs at an excellent average of 57.46. Wilson took 4 five-wicket hauls in her test career.
Diana Edulji
Indian legend Diana Edulji has reserved a place on this list with her exceptional left-arm bowling. Diana had a career span of 15 years, from 1976 to 1991, she was a part of 20 test matches, she made the most of it with 63 wickets, with the best bowling figure of 6 for 64. Against Australia, Diana was lethal, taking 23 odd wickets out of 63.
Myrtle Maclagan
Surprisingly, the tally of the most wickets in women’s test is full of all-rounders, another name who has made it to this list is England’s Myrtle Maclagan. You won’t believe that in her debut match against Australia, Myrtle made 70 runs and took 7 wickets. Playing for England for 16 years, she had 60 scalps in 14 matches with her off-break bowling.
Cathryn Fitzpatrick
Ex Australian fast bowler, Cathryn Fitzpatrick gets 5th place in terms of taking the most wickets in women’s tests. The two times women’s world cup winner contributed with 60 wickets in 13 test matches she played. Having a supreme bowling figure of 5/29, she bagged 2 five-wicket hauls.
