  • Introduces a new dynamic rider ratings system
  • Expanded career mode features new 3D paddock hub
  • Production bikes make series’ debut with new 1000cc category

After the trailer leaked earlier this week, it’s now official: Milestone’s annual MotoGP game series returns next month.

Launching on 29th April for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and, in a first for the series, Nintendo Switch 2, MotoGP 26 introduces a new rider rating system, new physics and an expanded career mode.

This year’s headline addition is the new rider ratings system. Similar to F1’s driver ratings, each rider is represented by a card with ratings based on their lap time, pace, head-to-head, and reliability. These attributes update dynamically based on their real-world performance in the MotoGP championship.

Milestone has also enhanced the bike physics with a new “rider-based handling system” where players can manage the rider’s weight and movements for a “true-to-life riding sensation and faster reactions.”

Elsewhere, an enhanced career mode features a fully 3D paddock. As well as being a central hub during race weekends, this also hosts press conferences where players can set short- and long-term goals, call out rivals publicly, or influence the team to speed up bike development.

Also new to the series, a personal manager will negotiate contracts, arrange meetings with teams and manufacturer representatives and guide players through the Rider’s Market.

After last year’s game added Motard, Flat Track and Minibikes, MotoGP 26 sees the series’ debut of production bikes, with a new 1000cc category joining the casual Race Off mode. These production bikes will presumably carry over from Ride 6.

Like last year’s game, Arcade and Pro presets allow players to tailor the physics to their skill level, with the latter offering a more realistic and demanding experience. Arcade mode is also said to be “revised.”

Cross-play multiplayer has expanded to 22 players, but once again won’t be available on the Nintendo Switch or Switch 2 consoles, which are also limited to 12 rider grids in single player.

 MotoGP 26 release date

MotoGP 26 will release on 29th April 2026 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
