Another week went by on the WTA Tour, which this time saw the conclusion of the first leg of the Sunshine Double at Indian Wells. As is the case after every tournament-concluding week, we here at LWOT provide a breakdown of the biggest movers on both the ATP and the WTA Tour.
Biggest Movers in the WTA top 100 This Week
Moving Up
Elena Rybakina: +1: world #3 -> world #2
Although Elena Rybakina gained just one place in the rankings, the nature of that rise, reaching a career high and becoming the second-best player in the world, makes her inclusion on this list understandable. The Kazakh, who has arguably been the best player in the world in 2026, as shown by her leading the live WTA Race so far, had another deep run in the California desert, where she came just one point short of winning the championship.
Talia Gibson: +44: world #112 -> world #68
The biggest jump of the week came from the unlikely Aussie, Talia Gibson, who cracked the Top 100 after what was a remarkable run from the qualifiers all the way to the quarterfinals. The 21-year-old beat the likes of Jasmine Paolini and Clara Tauson along the way, and has already started her journey in Miami, where she won her first qualifying match on Sunday.
Paula Badosa: +6: world #106 -> world #100
After being a mainstay in the WTA Top 15 for a couple of years, injuries have greatly derailed Paula Badosa’s last couple of seasons. This week, although she lost her first match at Indian Wells, the Spaniard had a deep run at the WTA 125 in Austin, which has seen her re-enter the Top 100 rankings as she begins yet another climb.
Moving Down
Danielle Collins: -21: world #78 -> world #99
Still on the sidelines due to a back injury, Danielle Collins continues her slide and is now on the verge of dropping out of the Top 100. The American will also miss the Miami Open, with a potential return in the second half of the year looking realistic.
Eva Lya: -7: world #70 -> world #77
Although the German was set to return to the tour at Indian Wells, Eva Lys ultimately decided to delay her comeback due to an ongoing knee injury. She is now expected to return in Miami.
