These extended Newcastle United 2 Manchester United 1 match highlights, a must see.
I saw the ones put out by Sky Sports, the shorter version, the first thing they showed of Newcastle United was the Jacob Ramsey sending off!
In reality, as reflected by these extended highlights, Newcastle were excellent in the opening half and played some really good football, some sweet passing moves. Only the finishing letting NUFC down.
So much frustration within this match, the match officials absolutely appalling. Referee Peter Bankes was the VAR in the even worse travesty that was the 2-2 draw with Chelsea in December, when he failed to intervene time after time on key decisions that should have gone Newcastle’s way.
As you can see in these highlights, Ramsey doesn’t even appeal for a foul when he goes down. Bankes clearly has no intention of giving the second yellow and is walking away, then once the Man U players surround him he suddenly changes his mind.
As for our penalty, the referee shakes his head and is determined not to give it, yet as he heads away from it, he suddenly stops and turns around, then gives it. The only rational reason for this is that somebody has had a word in his ear and told him he will look even more ridiculous if he doesn’t give this clear penalty himself.
Anyway, just enjoy the brilliant way United win this one. Despite the best attempts of Peter Bankes and friends.
Anthony Gordon was brilliant when winning the penalty and scoring.
However, just watch Will Osula, he does even better! Comes back deep and wins back the ball, then turns and sprints onto Trippier’s superb pass up the line, the the Great Dane cuts inside and a top class winner!
Just watch the crowd celebrations as well when Osula runs to the crowd, not a single phone in sight!!
These match highlights well worth a watch.
