Myles Borne retained his NXT North American Championship tonight, but got ambushed in the process.
During tonight’s NXT Stand & Deliver event, Borne beat Johnny Gargano to retain his title. Despite Gargano channeling his old self, it wasn’t enough. At the end of the match, Borne got out of a pin from Gargano, and then got hit with a cheap shot by Candice LeRae, who was there with Gargano.
Gargano couldn’t capitalize, though, even after grabbing Borne’s tights to try and cheat. Gargano hit Borne with a superkick, but Borne responded with a Slingshot Borne Again, and then a regular Borne Again for the win.
After the match, as Borne celebrated, Dion Lennox appeared. He hit Borne in the back with a chair, then hit a Tilt a Whirl backbreaker on Borne on top of the chair. The segment ended with Lennox yelling to the crowd, and Borne down.
