Nada Hafez Competes in Paris Olympics Being 7 Months Pregnant

Egyptian fencer Nada Hafez shared on Instagram that she competed in the round of 16 at the Paris 2024 Olympics while seven months pregnant. Her incredible achievement has garnered widespread admiration and well-wishes from the sports community.

A Journey of Motherhood Shined in Paris Olympics:

The Paris Olympics stage witnessed another brave tale of a would-be mother. Egyptian fencer Nada Hafez recently revealed on Instagram that she competed in the round of 16 at the Paris 2024 Olympics while seven months pregnant. At 26 years old, Hafez started strong by winning her first match 15-13 against Elizabeth Tartakovsky from the USA. In the round of 16, she faced Jeon Hayoung from South Korea but was ultimately defeated.

Hafez has a notable history in fencing, with several achievements throughout her career. She qualified for the 2016 Rio Olympics by securing a spot. Her dedication to the sport continued, and she qualified for the 2021 Olympics as well.

In addition to her Olympic appearances, Hafez has earned several medals in regional competitions. She won a silver medal at the 2018 African Zonal Championship and bronze medals in both 2014 and 2019. Her career highlights reflect her skill and commitment to fencing.

The Egyptian fencer shared this emotional news on her social media handle. She wrote, “What appears to you as two players on the podium, they were actually three! It was me, my competitor, & my yet-to-come to our world, little baby! My baby & I had our fair share of challenges, be it both physical & emotional.”

Later she added, “ The rollercoaster of pregnancy is tough on its own, but having to fight to keep the balance of life & sports was nothing short of strenuous, however worth it. I’m writing this post to say that pride fills my being for securing my place in the round of 16″.

Lastly, she thanked her family for their immense support. She said, “I’m lucky to have shared the trust of my husband and that of my family to be able to come this far.”
