Nate Landwehr Embraces Opportunity In Swanson’s Final Bout, “I’m trying to throw hands.”

When Nate Landwehr steps into the Octagon at UFC 327 on Saturday night, he won’t just be facing a seasoned veteran in Cub Swanson. He’ll be standing across from a fighter making the final walk of his career.

Landwehr (18-7) had long hoped to face Swanson, though at one point he believed the matchup might never come together. That changed when the UFC finally called with the name he had been targeting for years.

“I was just questioning, ‘I’m I getting old?’ They called me, I was like, ‘Well he older’. Coming into the UFC from M1 Global that’s the fight I kind of wanted,” Landwehr told reporters including Cageside Press on Wednesday.

“We about to fight. We about to find out Saturday night. We’re going at it, two guys, I feel like it’s like two dads at a baseball game. We going to figure it out.”

With many of the questions surrounding the fight focused on Swanson’s retirement, Landwehr noted that those are just storylines heading into the matchup, and that he has a few of his own.

“Yo, I’m trying to get it,” he said.

“I’m trying to throw hands and get back on this winning streak.”
