The biggest reason behind the Thunder’s 24-2 record this season has been their suffocating defense, with the likes of Alex Caruso and Lu Dort leading the charge.
However, that strategy was rendered useless, especially against the 7’4″ Wembanyama. Speaking of which, Wemby had some words for Caruso in the fourth quarter.
With less than three minutes left in the fourth quarter and the Spurs down by one point, Wembanyama danced around Caruso to make a much-needed mid-range shot and give his team the lead.
Wemby didn’t stop there as he ensured to make fun of the 6’5″ Caruso, who simply had no answer for the French phenom.
It was a pivotal moment in the game, which ultimately helped the Spurs register a 111-109 win over the Thunder.

NBA fans loved Victor Wembanyama’s trash talk against Alex Caruso
This season, the Thunder are so good that they have unknowingly become the villains of the league. Of course, some questionable officiating in their games hasn’t helped their reputation.
Keeping that in mind, NBA fans on X loved Wemby mocking Caruso and had nothing but praise for the former No. 1 overall pick.
“Idk what Alex was thinking,” a fan laughed. While another added: “No foul being called at all is hilarious.”
“Nah, I’m sure he was cursing in French,” a third fan noted.
