The good news is Davis is expected to be back for the Mavericks’ New Year’s Day game against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Davis’ name has come up a ton in trade talks and now it seems like it’s only a matter of time before he gets traded this season.
According to NBA insider Chris Haynes, the Mavericks are expected to move Davis prior to the trade deadline.

Haynes also reported that at this time, the Atlanta Hawks appear to be the frontrunners to land Davis.
Haynes stated the Hawks have the easiest trade package for Davis and can offer him an extension in the summer.
