London, UK (January 29th, 2026)– Former World Heavyweight champion Tyson Fury is back! Fury is coming out of retirement to fight in the United Kingdom in what will be the inaugural boxing event for Netflix on a Ring Magazine card.

Fury, 34-2-1 with 24 knockouts, Morecambe, Lancashire, United Kingdom, age 37, will fight Aslanbek Mahmudov, 21-2 with 19 knockouts, age 36, Montreal, Quebec, by way of Mozdok, Russian Federation.  Makhmudov is coming off a 12-round unanimous decision points win over David Allen at Sheffield Arena in October 2025. Fury has been inactive since December 2024, when he lost a unanimous decision in a rematch to the current World heavyweight champion, Oleksandr Usyk of Ukraine, at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia promoter Turki Alalshikh announced the 10-round scheduled bout on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, stating, “We are happy that Tyson (Fury) decided to come out of retirement for what should be an exciting heavyweight clash against Makhmudov.”

Opening odds on Box.live have Fury as a 1:6 favorite at -590 to win. Makhmudoiv is currently listed as a 4:1 underdog at +400 to win. Fury, at 6’9″ and an 85-inch reach, towers over Makhmudov, 6’6″ 77.6 inches reach. Both fighters fight from the orthodox stance. Oddsmakers give Fury an 82 percent chance of winning, while giving Makhmudov an 18 percent chance.

Makhmudov went down to the canvas three times in the fourth round for a TKO loss to Agit Kabayel in December 2023 at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, losing his North American Boxing Federation Heavyweight title and making his chin suspect. In August 2024, Makhmudov was stopped in the eighth round at Centre Videotron in Quebec City by Guido Vianello. Makhmudov has been more active than Fury, though, fighting three times in 2023, twice in 2024, and twice in 2025. Fury could be angling for a title shot against Fabio Wardley, who currently holds the WBO interim world heavyweight title.
