New Challengers Named For MFT’s WWE Tag Team Titles On SmackDown

The March 6 episode of WWE SmackDown featured a Tag Team Turmoil gauntlet match to decide the new No. 1 contenders for the WWE Tag Team Championship, currently held by MFT. The match included Motor City Machine Guns, Fraxiom, The Wyatt Sicks, Los Garza, and the newly formed team of Damian Priest and R-Truth.

The match started with Motor City Machine Guns facing Fraxiom. Both teams showed fast teamwork. However, the finish came with some controversy. Fraxiom scored the pinfall after a quick sequence. Alex Shelley tried to place his partner’s foot on the bottom rope to stop the count, but it happened just a little too late. The referee had already counted three, eliminating Motor City Machine Guns.

Next up was Los Garza. The team changed the momentum of the match and eliminated Fraxiom.

Then the former champions, The Wyatt Sicks, entered the match. Things took an unexpected turn when interference from MFT caused a distraction. Los Garza took advantage of the situation and managed to pin The Wyatt Sicks.

R-Truth And Damian Priest Earn Tag Team Title Opportunity

The final team to enter the match was the new pairing of Damian Priest and R-Truth. Earlier in the show, Priest was surprised when SmackDown GM Nick Aldis told him that R-Truth would be his partner for the match. Even though the team seemed unusual at first, the two quickly worked well together.

R-Truth is now bald for some reason, and he entertained the crowd by leaning into his “Ron Cena” character, using John Cena’s moves. The crowd loved it.

In the end, Ron Cena hit the Attitude Adjustment on Angel, and Priest hit South of Heaven on Berto and defeated Los Garza. With that victory, they became the new No. 1 contenders for the WWE Tag Team Championship.
