Driving Lessons: Think Different
Ross Bentley explains how to merge your expertise to drive faster. “I get great enjoyment out of merging ideas from one discipline with another, and particularly when it blends into something I can use on the track. After all, all that matters in the world is driving around a track faster than everyone else, and if it’s a wheel-to-wheel competition, to be in front of them at the end. (Now you know all you need to know about me!).”

Focus Mode On
Dan Wells Driver Management explains how focus mode looks different for every driver. “ome drivers use music. Some use meditation. But real focus should not depend on one lucky ritual. It should come from within, from a routine that keeps you grounded, locked in, and adaptable when things don’t go to plan.” Read their post here for more.
Look out for Dan on an upcoming episode of the Motorsport Prospects Podcast.
Race Car & Series Developments
Lola T70 Returns as an Historic-Eligible Race Car and a Road Car

Lola Cars has launched two versions of the all-conquering T70, which famously became the race car of choice for privateers from its launch in 1965.
Just 16 examples of the new car, based on the last of the line Lola T70 Mk3b, will be built by the company, in either authentic historic racing eligible track form or as a slightly more civilised road car. Both stick closely to the original design, with the same chassis, suspension, bodywork, small block Chevrolet V8 and the famed Hewland ‘dog-box’ transaxle – albeit with a clever twist for the road car.
The prototype T70S heads to the US in April for further testing with Johnny Herbert, while the road car is expected to undergo firsts tests in late summer. More details on the Lola website.
How the 2030 Prototype Regulations Are Coming Together
John Dagys of Sportscar365+ investigates latest updates as manufacturers continue discussions on common set of technical regulations for 2030 debut. “Behind the scenes, preliminary work was already underway in manufacturer working group meetings on what a common set of technical regulations — essentially merging LMH and LMDh together — could look like, with the target of having a single set of regs for 2030 in both the WEC and WeatherTech Championship.”

A Taste of Wine Country SRO GT America Style

Pitlane News visits Sonoma Raceway in California to experience an SRO race weekend and comes away impressed. “Set in the heart of Sonoma – a region globally recognized for its world-class vineyards, rich motorsport heritage, and scenic rolling hills Sonoma Raceway stands as one of North America’s most technical and demanding road courses. Known for its elevation changes, blind corners, and unforgiving layout, the 2.39-mile circuit has long challenged even the most experienced drivers, rewarding precision, confidence, and control.
