NEW WARRANT ISSUED FOR ANOTHER ARREST FOR GERVONTA DAVIS FROM BALTIMORE
Baltimore, MD (February 3rd, 2026)– On February 2, 2026, a Baltimore Circuit judge issued a fresh arrest warrant for Gervonta Davis for violating his probation. This warrant followed his arrest in Miami just one week prior on charges related to a domestic violence incident.
Circuit Judge Althea M. Handy issued the newest warrant on Monday, February 2, 2026. The violation stems from a 2020 hit-and-run case in Baltimore, for which Davis was still serving three years of probation.
On January 28, 2026, Davis was taken into custody in Miami after a two-week manhunt involving the U.S. Marshals Service. He was charged with battery, false imprisonment, and attempted kidnapping regarding an October 2025 incident involving an ex-girlfriend.
Davis was released from a Miami jail on Wednesday, January 28, after posting an $8,500 bond. However, the subsequent Baltimore warrant for probation violation means he remains in active legal jeopardy.
His attorney, Hunter Pruette, has filed a motion to quash the arrest warrant, requesting instead that the court issue a summons so Davis can address the Maryland matter without immediate detention.
The WBA has designated Davis as “Champion in Recess” due to his legal situation and inability to defend his lightweight title.
These legal issues previously forced the cancellation of his high-profile November 2025 fight against Jake Paul, who ultimately fought Anthony Joshua instead.
