NHL News: A Different Penalty for the Senators, and Injury Updates

The NHL alters their penalty to the Ottawa Senators

NHL PR: The NHL decided to alter their punishment to the Ottawa Senators and granted them the 32nd pick in the 2026 draft. The Senators were originally stripped of their 2024, 2025 or 2026 first-round picks for the role they played in an Evgenii Dadonov trade of not providing info on Dadonov’s no-trade list. The Senators were also fined $1 million CDN.

The trade back in 2022 was done under a different owner and different management.

The Senators’ original draft slot will be forfeited. If they miss the playoffs and win the draft lottery, there will be a re-draw.
