NHL Rumors: Blackhawks, Flyers, Mammoth, Blues, Wild, and Rangers

NHL Rumors: Blackhawks, Flyers, Mammoth, Blues, Wild, and Rangers

The Chicago Blackhawks could move Nick Foligno

Frank Seravalli: Chicago Blackhawks forward Nick Foligno would consider a move for the right fit. The Blackhawks will see what they can do. Similar situation to the Florida Panthers sending defenseman Jeff Petry to the Minnesota Wild for a conditional 7th.

Rasmus Ristolainen trade market expanding

Pierre LeBrun: The trade market for Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen expanded on Thursday. Some new teams have inquired.

Are the Utah Mammoth the favorites for Robert Thomas?

TSN: The Utah Mammoth could be one of the main teams to keep an eye on when it comes to St. Louis Blues forward Robert Thomas.

“I still think the Utah Mammoth are probably the team we should be looking at if Thomas moves by Friday’s deadline. There’s been a lot of interest from the Mammoth. The asking price was a little too rich for them earlier in the week, but perhaps as we get closer to 3 p.m. ET on Friday, that price changes or something changes on the Utah side of the equation.”

With Alex Steen taking over for Doug Armstrong next year as GM, there’s a different feel to the Blues this year. Getting a deal done Thursday night for Thomas might be ideal, as it gives him a little time to decide whether he wants to waive his no-trade clause or not.

Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet: Believe the Utah Mammoth are the best match for Robert Thomas, but they think the price is too high.

Believe that the Detroit Red Wings have some interest as well.

The Minnesota Wild, and others, have found the price too steep for Vincent Trocheck

TSN: Teams are finding the New York Rangers asking price for Vincent Trocheck a little too steep for their liking at this time, according to Chris Johnston. The Minnesota Wild had been the favorites, but they stepped back on Thursday morning. It’s not saying they are out or done with talks.

“But right now, it seems that New York’s having a difficult time quite getting the price they’re looking for. And there are multiple centremen out there, whether it’s Thomas, Nazem Kadri as well, for teams to look at.

And ultimately, the Minnesota Wild have made a big move already in season, getting Quinn Hughes, trading a lot of their futures in that package. They’ve made a couple smaller deals here of late. And they don’t necessarily feel they have to go big-game hunting if they find the price not to their liking.”
