“I will think about it,” Alex Ovechkin when asked about playing next season

Tom Gulitti of NHL.com: The home crowd chanted “One more year” towards Alex Ovechkin in the final minutes of yesterday’s game against Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins.

When asked about it, his response was, “I will think about it.”

The Washington Capitals are still mathematically in the playoff race, but a Philadelphia Flyers win on Monday would eliminate the Capitals. The Caps need to win out and need some help.

“Well, we’re in a battle for a playoff spot,” Ovechkin said. “I don’t think about what’s happening in a week or tomorrow. We just have to concentrate on this game.”
