There is interest in Seattle Kraken forward Eeli Tolvanen
David Pagnotta: Teams are calling the Seattle Kraken about pending UFA forward Eeli Tolvanen. They are focused on getting into the playoffs and are looking to add. If they do move Tolvanen, or any of their other pending UFAs, it would have to be because somebody overpaid.
Teams that could be interested in Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen
Kevin Kurz: Because Rasmus Ristolainen had a year left and at $5.1 million, a deal for the Edmonton Oilers was going to be a long shot. Didn’t see a match there, but there are many other teams that could have use for the Philadelphia Flyers defenseman.
Kevin Kurz of The Athletic: Multiple sources have said that the Philadelphia Flyers would listen to offers for Rasmus Ristolainen if they were along the lines of what the Boston Bruins got for Brandon Carlo last year – a first, fourth and prospect Fraser Minten.
NHL Rumors: Chicago Blackhawks, and the Calgary Flames
A look at some teams that could be looking for a right-handed defenseman with some size and mobility.
Buffalo Sabres – They have their next three first. Jiri Kulich and Konsta Helenius likely aren’t feasible, but maybe 2023 second-round pick Anton Wahlberg. If not looking at a center, goaltender Devon Levi.
Boston Bruins – Have their own, and the Maple Leafs first this year. 2022 second-round pick Matthew Poitras has been passed by Minten.
Dallas Stars – Don’t have their 2026 or 2028 first-round pick. They don’t really have any center prospects.
San Jose Sharks – Have their own and the Oilers first-round pick this year. Filip Bystedt and Zack Ostapchuk are two interesting centers.
Ottawa Senators – No first-round pick this year, but have their next two. Stephen Halliday played center in the AHL but has been playing left win in the NHL.
NHL Rumors: Buffalo Sabres, Montreal Canadiens, and Trade Deadline Tiers
Detroit Red Wings – Have all their firsts. The Wings likely wouldn’t include Nate Danielson or Marco Kasper. 2022 fourth-round pick Amadeus Lombardi is a point-a-game pace in the AHL this season.
