Rasmus Andersson, yes; Nazem Kadri, maybe; Blake Coleman, unlikely
TSN: The Calgary Flames have three players – Rasmus Andersson, Nazem Kadri, and Blake Coleman – in the top six of TSNs Trade Bait list. The Flames aren’t planning on a full rebuild or tear-down, according to Darren Dreger, but they are looking to get younger.
Andersson seems like the top priority for Flames GM Craig Conroy. If the Flames get what they want for Andersson, and if they trade Kadri, and get what they want for him, Conroy could back off on others.
Teams are interested Blake Coleman, but if they get a good return on Andersson and possibly Kadri, they could keep him, and a trade seems unlikely.
NHL Rumors: Dougie Hamilton and Marc-André Fleury Buzz
“This guy’s won Stanley Cups, but it’s also the type of player he is and the type of man he is. But those are characteristics and attributes that the Flames need. You can’t trade everybody, you’ve got to have a backbone to the culture side of your team, and Coleman is definitely that.”
Three teams to keep an eye on regarding Rasmus Andersson, and a few others with interest
James Murphy of RG Media: An NHL executive said to keep an eye on the Ottawa Senators, Boston Bruins and Detroit Red Wings when it comes to Calgary Flames defenseman Rasmus Andersson.
Elliotte Friedman on 32 Thoughts: The Podcast on Monday on the Flames and Andersson.
“It does seem like Calgary is getting a little more aggressive in trying to do something,” Friedman said.
“It sounds like there’s a desire for them to do it before the Olympics, and teams know that. Now, there’s been stops and starts with this before, so I’m always careful, but there are times it seems more active than other times, and one of those times is now.”
RG Media source said the Bruins have made an offer to the Flames, and that defenseman Mason Lohrei and the Bruins first-round pick are in play. The Bruins also hold the Toronto Maple Leafs first-round pick from the Brandon Carlo trade.
A source said that the Red Wings would only trade for Andersson if it came with a contract and that defensemen Simon Edvinsson and Axel Sandin Pellikka are “off limits.”

Also showing interest are the Vegas Golden Knights, Anaheim Ducks, and Dallas Stars.
