The Toronto Maple Leafs won’t be making any changes before the end of the season
TSN: Chris Johnston doesn’t get the sense that the Toronto Maple Leafs are interested in firing anyone at this point in time. The futures of coach Craig Berube, management, and even if Auston Matthews will want to stick around have all been talked about outside the organization. Don’t expect any in-season changes.
“All these questions, I don’t believe we’ll get any clarity on whatsoever until after mid-April. The Leafs play their final regular-season game on Apr. 15. And so, yes, it leaves everyone in kind of a weird spot right now as they’ve been losing a lot of games. And there’s still a lot of games yet to be played, but that’s just where they’re at. I don’t get the sense we’re going to see any action taken before the last games played this season.”

Marchese: “When, when we look around the league. Like so, Montreal, if we, you know, if you believe that they were involved in something big, does that kind of give you a little bit of pause and how they are being evaluated for this trade deadline? Because everybody’s saying, like, well, they, they didn’t do anything. They didn’t go out and make a big splash. It sounds like it wasn’t for the lack of trying it.”
Friedman: “I believe that, and I just think we’ll see. We’ll see in the future. I think that they, like I said, I think that the one thing about the Canadiens that they believe is, they believe that their window is just opening, and they’ve got some time here. And they, they want to be good for a long time, and they have a chance to be good for a long time.
NHL Rumors: Montreal Canadiens, and the Toronto Maple Leafs
So I just don’t think they wanted to rush into anything. I think whatever they decided, tried to do, with Knies or anything else. It was with term in mind.
