The Utah Mammoth are looking for a top-six forward
Marco D’Amico of Ratings: The Utah Mammoth are looking to add another top-six forward to boost their offense.
Sources say they’ve kicked tires on Nazem Kadri and some of the top centers that might be available. Elias Pettersson and Robert Thomas are two others they could look at.
A source added they may not want to move Tij Iginla, Danil But or any of their other former first-round picks unless it’s a monster deal. Teams will also be asking for Cole Beaudoin, Maveric Lamoureux and their 2026 first-round pick. Fourth overall, Caleb Desnoyers is having a good year in the QMJHL.
NHL Rumors: Seattle Kraken, and the Columbus Blue Jackets
The Toronto Maple Leafs and two pending UFAs in Bobby McMann and Scott Laughton
The Chris Johnston Show: Chris Johnston and Julian McKenzie on the Toronto Maple Leafs and pending UFA forwards Bobby McMann and Scott Laughton.

“McMann will deal with first. I think the Leafs want to see where they’re at. Like, truly. They, while they’ve started making those calls and taking those calls on, you know, getting a sense of how the market views their players.
You know, there is a world because of what I was saying, Bobby McMann gets the Leafs a bigger return than some people might think, just because he literally only makes $1.3 million on the cap. They can, they have retention spots, so they can chop that down below what is the league minimum salary this year, if they want.
You know, even a player like Scott Laughton, who’s a pending UFA. The Leafs, he’s already been chopped to $1.5 million in the original deal with Philly. He can be chopped down again in half.
So they can get some pretty low cap hits on their players and Laughton plays center, and he’s having a pretty good year since he’s been healthy. And, you know, let’s face it, a lot of the deadline ends up being bottom-six/depth defenseman.
McKenzie: “Those are the people you need,
Johnston: “Right. Like, that’s what the best teams tend to want to just, like they already have the highest-end pieces in place, they want to usually augment, maybe lower in their lineup.
