The Nike Kobe 10 is the latest Kobe Bryant shoe to enter the Protro canon. We’re learning that the model’s “5 AM Flight” edition is coming back for Holiday 2026, likely accompanied by new styles and a handful of additional retros throughout 2026 and 2027.
Designed by Nike legend Eric Avar and released in 2015, the Kobe 10 featured a trainer-inspired upper consisting of Fuse mesh, lending some aesthetic similarity to the Nike Roshe, which was popular a few years prior. As for the cushioning, the model featured full-length Lunarlon foam and a large Zoom Air unit in the heel. To be perfectly candid, the Kobe 10 is pretty low on most people’s rankings of the best Kobe models, a result of its relatively plain design and lack of memorable colorways compared to its predecessors. The sneaker also retailed for $180 to $200, which seems normal now but was pretty staggering back in the day.
The Kobe 10 “5 AM Flight” is a release known well here at Sneaker News; we were invited to a wear-test showing off the sneaker back in 2015. This was the model’s launch colorway, named after Kobe’s relentless training regimen and drive to not be outworked. Specifically, the shoe’s Blue Lagoon colorway is inspired by Kobe jumping off a 10-meter platform into a pool while recovering from his Achilles injury in 2013, which he posted to the now-defunct Vine platform.
No images of the Kobe 10 Protro “5 AM Flight” have been made public yet, but history tells us to expect the Protro to look pretty much exactly like the original. A Holiday 2026 launch is to be expected, meaning sometime between October and December (per Sneaker Files and zSneakerHeadz). Stay tuned for updates.
