Sri Lanka opener Pathum Nissanka scored his career’s second Test century and helped Sri Lanka in getting a historic victory. Nissanka scored 127 runs and remained unbeaten.
Sri Lanka started Day 4 with 94 runs for 1 wicket. Gus Atkinson broke another wall from Sri Lanka as he dismissed Kusal Mendis, as he scored 39 runs in 37 balls. After this, Nissanka and Angelo Matthews took the matters in their own hands and together mad a partnership of 111 runs, which took the team over their target.
Nissanka’s century against England came in the third Test match. This marked the second Test century by Nissanka. Both of the Test century by Nissanka have been outside their home grounds.
