Nita Ambani Felicitates Indian Olympic Medalists at India House

Nita Ambani, a prominent member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and chairperson of the Reliance Foundation, hosted a heartfelt ceremony at India House on Saturday to honor the remarkable achievements of Indian athletes at the ongoing Paris Olympics. The event celebrated Olympic silver medallist Neeraj Chopra, bronze medalist Aman Sehrawat, and the Indian men’s hockey team, who showcased exceptional talent and determination on the world stage.

Celebrating Athletic Excellence

The ceremony was graced by the presence of Indian Olympic Association (IOA) president PT Usha, who joined Nita Ambani in congratulating the athletes. The event recognized India’s impressive performance, with the nation securing six medals so far, including five bronze and one silver.

Among the honorees, Neeraj Chopra earned silver in the men’s javelin throw with a best throw of 89.45 meters, narrowly missing out on defending his gold medal from the previous Olympics. Meanwhile, Aman Sehrawat made headlines by clinching bronze in the 57 kg freestyle wrestling event, defeating Puerto Rico’s Darian Cruz.

Special Praise for Aman Sehrawat

Nita Ambani praised Aman during the ceremony, highlighting his inspiring journey from a humble background in Haryana to becoming India’s youngest Olympic medalist.

“Let’s cheer for an athlete who has made us all proud on his Olympic debut. Born in a humble family in Haryana, orphaned at the age of 11, he has beaten all odds to become India’s youngest Olympic medalist. Aman, you have proved only talent, ability, and hard work matter. God bless you,” Ambani remarked, emphasizing the resilience and dedication of the young wrestler.

The Indian men’s hockey team, who also received accolades, included notable players such as PR Sreejesh, Abhishek Nain, Amit Rohidas, and Sanjay. They recently secured a bronze medal after a thrilling 2-1 victory over Spain, thanks to a brace from skipper Harmanpreet Singh and stellar saves by Sreejesh. The team’s commendable performance has reignited national pride in Indian hockey.
