India’s oncoming all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy was asked about the person who is most influential to him. Nitish surprised a lot of people as he gave out the name of KL Rahul. When asked the reason, Reddy revealed that Rahul’s advise has been invaluable and has majorly contributed to his growth as a cricketer.

Even after his impressive performance with both bat and ball in previous matches, especially in conditions of Australia and England, Shardul Thakur got overlooked by selection committee and hence Nitish Kumar Reddy was given the role of the fourth seamer.

In a recent interview with BCCI, Nitish revealed that whenever he faces any challenge or problem, he does not hesitate to go to Rahul for some advice.

He went on to explain the reason he finds Rahul suck a valuable leader. Nitish talked about a sense of positive energy or “good vibes” is what he receives from Rahul. On top of that, Reddy said that Rahul’s advices prove to be helpful during a lot of matches over-and-over again.

If I have any problems, I just want to go & talk with KL Bhai, I somehow feel good vibes from him, whatever suggestions he gives that works for me, give me suggestions before I went to bat & it worked as well,” said Nitish.

To be honest, I was not serious when I was young. My father left his job for me and there has been a lot of sacrifice behind my story. One day, I saw him crying because of financial problems we were facing and I was like this is not how you can be that my father made the sacrifices and you play cricket just for fun. At that time, I became serious and I got the growth, I worked hard and it paid off,” he further stated.

As a son from a middle-class family, I am so proud that my father is happy now. I gave my first jersey to him and saw happiness in his face and I feel very proud,” he concluded.

India is currently engaged in a five-match Test series against Australia, where Australia has made a big change in their playing XI for the day-night Test in Adelaide. Scott Boland has replaced Josh Hazlewood in Australia’s Playing XI.
