No BCCI-PCB Talks on 2025 Champions Trophy at ICC Annual Conference

The recent ICC Annual Conference in Colombo saw no discussions regarding the 2025 Champions Trophy, despite Pakistan being the designated hosts for the tournament. The four-day conference concluded today without any deliberation on this matter, and it was notably absent from the agenda of the Annual General Meeting (AGM).

A source close to the proceedings revealed, “It wasn’t on the agenda so it wasn’t brought up or discussed during the Annual General Meeting.” This sentiment was echoed by a senior official from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), who confirmed that there were no discussions with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) about the Champions Trophy.

“It isn’t a bilateral where two boards will hold discussions. No dialogue happened between us and PCB on the Champions Trophy. Since it wasn’t on any of the agendas, it wasn’t discussed during the AGM too. It is still time away and ICC will handle it,” said a top BCCI official.

The absence of discussion on the Champions Trophy has sparked curiosity among cricket enthusiasts and officials alike, given the tournament’s significance in the international cricket calendar. However, the ICC will take charge of managing the event, with discussions potentially occurring closer to the tournament date.
