“Not everyone is close to him…” former Indian cricketer drops a bombshell on Kohli’s change behavior

Experienced Indian cricket player Amit Mishra has talked about a noticeable difference in the personalities of Indian stars Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. The spin bowler noted that Kohli doesn’t have many close friends on the Indian team, and believes that “popularity and influence” have affected him. Mishra compared Kohli to Rohit, saying that the current Indian team captain is still the same person, and someone with whom Mishra can chat and laugh in the same way, despite Rohit’s fame and status.

On YouTuber Shubhankar Mishra’s show ‘Unplugged’, Amit Mishra shared that the reason Virat Kohli has fewer friends on the team compared to Rohit Sharma is due to their differing personalities.

Mishra stated, “To be honest, not everyone is close to him. I have a lot of respect for him as a cricketer, but our relationship isn’t as strong as it once was.” He explained, “Why does Virat have fewer friends? It’s because his and Rohit’s personalities are different.”

He further mentioned, “I haven’t been part of the Indian team for years. Yet, whenever I meet Rohit during the IPL or other events, he always jokes around with me. I don’t have to worry about what he might think,” Mishra continued.

When the host asked Mishra if Kohli had changed, Mishra said yes.

“I’ve noticed Virat has changed a lot. We were almost not talking anymore. When you become famous and powerful, some people think others only want something from them,” Mishra explained.

The host mentioned a past quote from Yuvraj Singh, where the well-known all-rounder said he used to be close friends with ‘Cheeku’ (Virat Kohli’s nickname), but not with the famous Kohli.

“I’ve known Cheeku since he was 14, when he would eat samosas and always wanted pizza at night. But there’s a big difference between the Cheeku I knew and Virat Kohli, the team captain,” Mishra shared.

Mishra played 22 Test matches and 36 One Day Internationals for India, with his last game being in 2017.
