New Zealand Cricket Partners With TNS

New Zealand Cricket will partner with United States-based company True North Sports Ventures (TNS) to launch its franchise in the Major League Cricket (MLC) in 2027. The NZC brand new franchise will mark its presence in the 2027 season of the Major League Cricket  (MLC).

 New Zealand Cricket Chief Executive Scott Weenink was quoted by a news outlet saying that the agreement between New Zealand Cricket and TNS is a milestone for NZC. In addition, Weenink also mentioned the importance of adapting new opportunities as franchise cricket is growing globally. Moreover, he said that the partnership will expand income streams and NZC fanbase worldwide.

Furthermore, following the agreement,  NZC will provide high-performance and operational staff, which includes coaching, management, and support staff. NZC will also integrate the franchise into its domestic high-performance ecosystem.

The Major League Cricket (MLC) is an A-list tournament hosted in North America in June and July every year. MLC consists of six teams participating in the competition. However, by 2027, eight teams will participate in the tournament, and by 2031, MLC is planning to launch 10 franchises. The A-list T20 competition features well-known players like Rachin Ravindra, Pat Cummins, Trent Boult, Matt Henry, Travis Head, David Miller, and Steve Smith.

NZ Upcoming Fixture

New Zealand’s upcoming fixture is the tri-series in Zimbabwe in July 2025. The New Zealand cricket team, South Africa, and Zimbabwe will participate in the competition. The tri-series will begin on Monday, July 14, 2025, and the final is on Saturday, July 2025. The Harare Sports Club in Harare will host all six matches and the finale of the tri-series.
