Richard Berankis of Lithuania has decided to retire from professional tennis at age 35. His career-high ranking was no. 50. He won 15 Challenger titles, reached two ATP finals and scored two Top-10 wins, both vs Milos Raonic. His one ATP title was in doubles with Teymuraz Gabashvili at 2015 Houston where they upset the Bryan Brothers 75 75. Berankis his the backhand return winner on championship point. He has wins vs Nalbandian, Raonic, Anderson and Dimitrov.

Nicolas Pereira comments on last night’s Tennis Channel Miami broadcast of Carlos Alcaraz vs Joao Fonseca: “This has been a long term project that started a long time ago. He (Fonseca) has been working with the same team for a long time. All the pieces are in place… Franco Davin helps coach the coach, he has no direct contact with Joao.”
