Official Burnley injury update sees up to nine players missing for Newcastle United match

An official Burnley injury update, probable availability for the Newcastle United match on Tuesday night.

Scott Parker missing a lot of players.

The Burnley boss short on numbers due to both injuries and the African Cup of Nations.

Scott Parker hoping to have defender Maxime Esteve back available.

However, the reality is that Esteve could be one of nine Burnley players unavailable.

Scott Parker summing the situation up currently: “Everyone needs to be ready at this time of the year as the games come so thick and fast. Maxine [Esteve] is close [to a return] but we will see where he is at ahead of the game. Hopefully he will be in the frame for a return, as we are going to need everybody to be ready to play their part over the coming days and weeks.”

These are the nine Burnley players who could all be potentially missing against Newcastle United:

Maxime Esteve – Late fitness call

Axel Tuanzebe – Playing in African Cup of Nations

Connor Roberts – Calf injury

Lyle Foster – Playing in African Cup of Nations

Zeki Amdouni – Knee injury

Josh Cullen – Knee injury

Hannibal Mejbri – Playing in African Cup of Nations

Jordan Beyer – Thigh injury

Joe Worrall – Late fitness call

Scott Parker stating ahead of Tuesday night: “A tough Premier League fixture against a good Newcastle side, though there is clearly a difference in Newcastle’s home and away performances and results. We will look to take advantage of those reasons that may contribute to that, but fundamentally, we are focused on ourselves and getting things right.”

The last nine Burnley games have seen them lose seven and draw two and the Burnley boss admitting: “What I do know is…Newcastle United have got a lot of quality in their squad, so we will need to produce another strong performance at Turf Moor.”
