Mike Maignan has put pen to paper on a new contract.

At the end of last season it seemed certain that Maignan would leave Milan when he contract expires in 2026, but a lot has changed since then as the arrivals of Max Allegri and his staff, as well as that of Igli Tare, have completely changed the mind of Mike, who now stays.

Maignan has been the Captain of the Rossoneri since the exit of Davide Calabria last January, and this season he’s been a standout performer for the Diavolo, making countless saves.

Milan and Maignan’s agent went into negotiations into a renewal again and found an agreement on a deal worth a reported €5m + €2m of bonuses per year. Today, after weeks of talks, Maignan went to Casa Milan to sign the new deal.

“Milan is delighted to announce the renewal of Mike Maignan’s contract until 30 June 2031,” a statement reads.

“After joining the Rossoneri in the summer of 2021, Mike quickly established himself as one of the team’s key figures, standing out for his leadership, reliability and selfless attitude. His constant growth saw him become Club Captain and a central presence within the squad, as well as a mainstay for the French national team.

“Maignan, who has made 188 appearances for AC Milan, played a pivotal role in the Club’s 2021/22 Scudetto triumph and 2024 Supercoppa Italiana victory. These achievements reflect a personal journey built over time through dedication, responsibility and a deep sense of belonging to the Rossoneri colours. On an individual level, he was named as the best Serie A goalkeeper for the 2021/22 season.

“Milan and Mike Maignan are now further cementing their bond, with the shared aim of continuing to write new chapters in the Club’s history together.”
