The retro indie game is looking for wheel testers
Old School Rally is looking for current game owners to test work-in-progress steering wheel support.
The diminutive 1990s-themed driving game exited early access last year, and hit consoles too, but since December is yet to receive a significant post-release update.
However, creators Frozen Lake Games and Astroblade Games put out a call to arms earlier this month for help, and since then have sent out two batches of playtest invites as of 12th February 2026.
This is primarily for steering wheel peripheral support testing, although, as noted in our review, the vehicle handling lacks a little finesse. Presumably, to make sure wheels work well, the dynamics systems will also be revised.

“We have an invite-only test branch on Steam ready at this moment, and would like to welcome testers with different wheel setups to help us out,” reads the post on the game’s Steam Store page.
The playtest ‘waves’ are being determined by the make and model of the device people own. Wheel ownership is still largely dominated by Logitech, Fanatec, Thurstmasters and Moza.
We’ll follow this closely as we hope to test this feature once it is complete and released.
