Oleksandr Usyk believes Anthony Joshua is capable of winning the undisputed heavyweight championship.
Usyk beat Joshua in 2021 to become unified heavyweight champion and retained his belts in a rematch almost a year later.
The Ukrainian great became undisputed champion when he overcame Tyson Fury in 2024.
‘AJ’ is now training alongside his former rival and despite falling short in his bid to become a three-time heavyweight champion when he was knocked out by Daniel Dubois, Usyk believes the 36-year-old can emulate his feat by winning all the belts.
“I know [he can become undisputed champion],” the 39-year-old told Daily Mail Boxing.
“Yes, It’s possible.
“AJ it’s possible. You [can become] undisputed champion in 2027.
“A lot of times I heard, ‘hey, Usyk you’re small, for you it’s not possible.’
“I said, ‘we’ll see.’”

‘The Cat’ relinquished his WBO title after becoming undisputed champion for a second time and Fabio Wardley, who was subsequently elevated from interim to full champion, will defend his strap against Dubois on May 9.
Usyk will defend his WBC crown against ex-kickboxing champion, Rico Verhoeven and recently named the winner of Wardley vs Dubois and a third showdown with Tyson Fury at the top of his hitlist.
However, the two-weight world champion has now claimed he may ditch a trilogy with Fury in favour of a bout with WBC interim titlist, Agit Kabayel.
“Maybe [I’ll fight] Kabayel,” he added.
“Maybe we’ll change [from] Tyson [Fury to] maybe Kabayel.
“This is the plan. This is my plan, but I don’t know the plan from god.”
Joshua has returned to training with Usyk’s team in Spain having seemingly recovered from the injuries he sustained following a fatal car crash in Nigeria in December, which killed two of his close friends.
The crash came just 10 days after ‘AJ’ stopped Jake Paul in the sixth round in Miami.
The two-time world champion’s promoter, Eddie Hearn has revealed that he could return in July in a warm-up bout before targeting a long-awaited meeting with Tyson Fury.
