Omar and Julio Chavez Jr. Headline Mysterious San Luis Potosi Mexico Boxing Card

San Luis Potosi, Mexico (January 20th, 2026)– In a mysterious boxing card just announced on the World Boxing Council worldwide website to be held at Arena Potosi in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, on Saturday, January 24, 2026, to be broadcast starting at 5 P.M. Mexican time on Box Azteca, Omar Chavez and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. will be making comebacks. Their father, Hall of Fame multi-division world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., will be in attendance.
The Arena Potosi card does not yet appear on the worldwide BoxRec schedule of fights, and as such, its sanctioning cannot be confirmed, professional or exhibition, nor can the number of bouts or the schedule of rounds. The card is, however, confirmed by the WBC to be taking place.
Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., 54-7-1 with 34 knockouts, Culican, Sinaloa, Mexico, age 39, the former World Boxing Council Middleweight champion, coming off a 10-round decision loss to Jake Paul, followed by deportation from the United States, is stated to be fighting Julian Angel, 10-1-1 with four knockouts. No such fighter can be located on BoxRec.
Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.’s younger brother, Omar ‘The Businessman’ Chavez. 41-9-1 with 28 knockouts, Culican, Sinaloa, Mexico, age 36, is stated to be fighting Jose Miguel ‘Mochuelito’ Torres, listed on BoxRec as 40-23 with 31 knockouts, age 46, Magangue, Colombia. Of the nine losses of Omar Chavez, all were by decision.
