Hardik Pandya used social media to honor Shikhar Dhawan’s retirement. Dhawan, who was a key player in India’s 2013 ICC Champions Trophy win, has decided to stop playing cricket in all international and domestic formats.
Pandya posted on Instagram: “only the best for you, Shiki paa. Congrats on a fantastic career.”
Saeed Anwar, a former cricket player from Pakistan, also praised Dhawan’s career.
“Your dedication, skills, and kindness will always be remembered. Thanks, and all the best for what comes next,” Anwar commented on Dhawan’s announcement.
Known as Gabbar both on and off the field, Dhawan is one of the most entertaining cricketers on the ground, and his career has been truly impressive.
Dhawan started playing for India in 2010 and quickly became a key player in the team, known for his powerful batting and lively personality on and off the field. Over the years, he has played a major role in many wins for India in all formats of the game.
Shikhar is famous for his successful cricket career, especially in shorter games, and has been an important player for India and different IPL teams. His best time came in the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy, where his great performance made him the best player of the tournament, earning him the title “Mr ICC.” His powerful innings and important contributions helped India win many games. He was the first batsman to score two centuries in a row in the IPL and holds the record for hitting the most fours in the IPL. He also became the captain of both Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad at the same time, something no other player has done before.
