Formula 1 to Become a Member of the Circular Bioeconomy Alliance
Formula 1 has today announced that it has become an affiliate member of the Circular Bioeconomy Alliance (CBA), established by His Majesty King Charles III when he was The Prince of Wales.
As a member of the CBA, Formula 1 will work together with industry experts and other CBA members to strengthen the integration of nature protection and restoration into its strategy and delivery.

F1 Implored to Act Over Max Verstappen Risk: ‘This is Not Good’
Formula E co-founder Alberto Longo has shared his views on whether F1 is risking losing its biggest stars, including Max Verstappen, because of its new regulations.
“You know what they say: let them make noise, bad or good, but noise is always kind of positive for motorsport, or for a company in general. But in my view, they’re risking the fact that the main top drivers and stars of the sport are openly against the new format of the races. Definitely, they should look into it.”
Interestingly, an adjustment to the energy management parameters for Qualifying at the Japanese Grand Prix has been agreed with the unanimous support of all Power Unit Manufacturers.
Eco Rallye Mallorca Sparks Island-Wide Energy journey

The sixth edition of the Eco Rallye Mallorca – Inca Ciutat officially started last Friday, marking a significant event in Mallorca’s motor sport calendar. Organised by eMallorca Experience and the Ajuntament de Inca, the rally brings together numerous drivers promoting sustainable driving across the Balearics. The event highlights environmentally-friendly motoring, combining a competitive spirit with a firm commitment to reducing environmental impact.
Unlike traditional rallies, this competition awards the driver demonstrating the highest eco-efficiency over two days rather than the fastest lap times. Participants navigate a route spanning over 300 kilometres throughout the island, featuring electric and hybrid vehicles. The race begins at Inca’s Plaza de España and includes scenic stages across Mallorca, notably through the Serra de Tramuntana.
FIA and UN Tourism Announce First Ever Sustainable Sports Tourism Awards Winners
The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), the global governing body for motor sport and the federation for mobility organizations worldwide, today announced the winners of the first UN Tourism Awards for Excellence in Sustainable Sports Tourism, powered by the FIA.
Announced at a ceremony in Madrid, ahead of this weekend’s ABB FIA Formula E CUPRA Raval Madrid E-Prix, the winners demonstrated leadership and innovation across key areas in sustainable tourism, showcasing environmental, social and economic impact, governance, scalability, and long-term legacy.

Michelin Launches High Efficiency Tires with 44-Mile EV Range Boost
Michelin has launched two high-efficiency tires, which can deliver up to 44 miles of additional range on electric vehicles (EVs). The Primacy 5 energy was rated A for efficiency, wet grip and noise, while the motorsport-derived Pilot Sport 5 energy was rated A for rolling resistance.

Opel Announces Entry Into Formula E from Season 13

Opel has announced its entry into the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship for Season 13 (2026/27) – the beginning of the GEN4 era.
Named the ‘Opel GSE Formula E Team,’ the Rüsselsheim-based organisation is taking its commitment to electric motorsport to the next level, while showcasing its all-electric GSE models. As a German brand with a long motorsport tradition and success in rallying, touring cars and endurance racing, Opel is now bringing its technical expertise to the world’s fastest-growing racing series.

DS Automobiles to Pull Out of Formula E After 2025-26 Season
Meanwhile, DS Automobiles has announced that it will exit Formula E at the end of the ongoing 2025-26 season. The French carmaker said it is evolving its “sporting and technology strategy” to focus on new ventures in golf and SailGP, rather than continuing into the upcoming Gen4 cycle of the all-electric championship.
