OSCAAR Drivers Ready to “Beat the Clock” at Flamboro Speedway

While the official start of the 2026 OSCAAR Racing season is scheduled for May 23 with the prestigious Hot Rods’ Bill Zardo Sr Memorial, alongside the Brian McLean Memorial for the Modifieds and the Super Late Models’ Don Biederman Memorial, fans won’t have to wait that long to see cars on track.

Thanks to the support of John and the team at Flamboro Speedway, OSCAAR will kick off the on-track excitement early with the “Beat the Clock Challenge” on Saturday, May 9.

Traditionally, OSCAAR teams prepare for the season through multiple open practice sessions at various tracks. In 2026, the Beat the Clock Challenge gives teams the opportunity to focus their testing efforts at a single venue, while also competing for prize money and early-season bragging rights.

Best of all, fans will be able to take in the entire event. From seeing brand-new paint schemes for the first time, picking up fresh 2026 OSCAAR merchandise, or simply enjoying the unmistakable sights, sounds, and smells of race cars returning to the track, Beat the Clock promises to be the perfect appetizer to the season ahead.

The Fyre Place & Patio Shop Hot Rods will compete in time trials, with the top three drivers sharing a $500 purse. Following time trials, the field will be lined up for a 25-lap feature event for their normal payout. As a non-points race, the emphasis will be purely on speed, performance, and the honour of capturing the first trophy of the 2026 season.

Both the Overkill Enterprises Modifieds and the JRS Auctions Super Late Models will participate in two rounds of practice and time trials, each division battling for the fastest lap of the night. A $1,000 purse will be split among the top three drivers in each division, setting the stage for some of the most intense and competitive laps fans will see all year, where a tenth of a second can make the difference between cashing in or coming up short.

The Beat the Clock Challenge at Flamboro Speedway sets the tone for another exciting OSCAAR Racing season, bringing teams and fans together ahead of the championship battles to come.
