The Green Bay Packers have had an eventful off-season thus far. The team has moved on from (via free agency or trade) a number of players. They have also added a few solid pieces in order to shore up some holes on the the roster.
However, the news the NFL just put out doesn’t have to do with the roster at all. Here are the details.
NFL Hands Tough News To The Packers As Well As The Rest Of The League
Adam Schefter of ESPN confirmed on Wednesday that the 2026 off-season owners meeting will not discuss one important detail: The Tush Push. That means that at least for one more season, that play will be legal.
There will be no discussion about the Tush Push at next week’s NFL owners’ meetings; the play will be back in 2026.

The news comes just one off-season after Green Bay proposed that the play be banned over safety concerns. For the “tush push” to be banned the proposal needed 75%, or 24 NFL teams, to be in favor of getting rid of the play.
The final vote was 22-10, with nine teams joining the Eagles in voting against the proposal, according to The Associated Press. Here is how all 32 teams voted:
Vote To Keep The Tush Push:
- Baltimore Ravens
- New England Patriots
- Detroit Lions
- Cleveland Browns
- Jacksonville Jaguars
- Miami Dolphins
- New Orleans Saints
- Tennessee Titans
- New York Jets
- Philadelphia Eagles
Vote To Ban The Tush Push:
- Washington Commanders
- Dallas Cowboys
- New York Giants
- Buffalo Bills
- Pittsburgh Steelers
- Cincinnati Bengals
- Houston Texans
- Indianapolis Colts
- Kansas City Chiefs
- Los Angeles Chargers
- Las Vegas Raiders
- Denver Broncos
- Minnesota Vikings
- Green Bay Packers
- Chicago Bears
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Atlanta Falcons
- Carolina Panthers
- Los Angeles Rams
- Seattle Seahawks
- Arizona Cardinals
- San Francisco 49ers
It will certainly be interesting to see if this proposal ever gets brought up again. Many analysts figured this would be a key talking point this season as the ban fell just two votes short. Here are some fan reactions to this year’s news:

Maybe if they start calling offsides it will stop being used. 🙄

They don’t want to actually fix anything, they just don’t want another Fail Mary with replacement refs
