Packers Linked To Miami Hurricanes CB In 2026 NFL Draft

The Green Bay Packers have gotten off to a quiet start in NFL free agency. Although general manager Brian Gutekunst added Javon Hargrave and Skyy Moore, several players have departed the organization to join other teams.

Among the many departures this offseason are players such as quarterback Malik Willis, wide receiver Romeo Doubs, cornerback Nate Hobbs, linebacker Quay Walker, and running back Emanuel Wilson. The Green Bay Packers also saw changes along the offensive line with the exits of Elgton Jenkins and Rasheed Walker.

Cheeseheads want to see the Packers take a more aggressive approach and start adding fresh talent to the roster. Free agency offers one way for Green Bay to strengthen the lineup, but the 2026 National Football League Draft will also carry major weight. Because the Packers traded their first-round selection last offseason to acquire Micah Parsons, general manager Brian Gutekunst will need to make his second- and third-round picks count.

With that in mind, the Packers have recently been linked to a prospect who could be an ideal addition at the cornerback spot with a second-round selection.

Mike Luciano of Lombardi Ave has proposed that Keionte Scott from the Miami Hurricanes could be a strong second-round option for the Green Bay Packers, potentially available at pick No. 53 overall.

“Scott isn’t a lockdown corner due to his gambling nature, but he can play all over the defensive backfield and is one of the best tacklers in this class,” wrote the NFL analyst.

Measuring 6 ft and 192 pounds, Keionte Scott recently completed a four-year college career. He spent his first three seasons with the Auburn Tigers before finishing his collegiate tenure with the Miami Hurricanes.

In the 2025 college football season with the Miami Hurricanes, Scott played a key role in helping the team reach the National Championship Game.

“With great ball skills, Scott should have no issue muscling his way into the Packers’ starting lineup following Nate Hobbs’ release. He intercepted two passes last season and returned both for touchdowns,” Luciano continued.

Scott finished the season with 64 total tackles, five sacks, two forced fumbles, two interceptions, two defensive touchdowns, and five passes defended—statistics that highlight his impact on the field.

No draft selection comes with guarantees, but Keionte Scott possesses an impressive skill set. Green Bay would be smart to give him serious consideration if he remains on the board in the second round.
